# sk174209 - The output of the "show bgp peer received/advertise" command shows that the Security Gateway advertises the same prefix it receives

## Symptoms

- The output of the "`show bgp peer received/advertise`" command shows that the Security Gateway advertises the same prefix it receives, leading to concerns about a suspected routing loop.

## Cause

By default, if a Check Point Security Gateway router sees BGP packets with its own AS number in the AS Path, it drops them unless the routing policy configuration prevents this.   

The routing policy, such as a route map's inbound and outbound route filters, controls which routes are accepted and announced.
