## Symptoms

- * Output of the "`top`" command on the VSX Gateway shows that the RTMD process periodically causes the CPU load to increase to 100% when the Monitoring Software Blade is enabled.
* Output of the "`rtm stat`" command on the VSX Gateway shows that the Driver is "OFF":

  ```
  [Expert@VSX:1]# rtm stat
  -------------------------------------------------------
  SmartView Monitor Status:
  -------------------------------------------------------
  Product is Enabled
  Daemon is ON
  -------------------------------------------------------
  Status for kernel instance 0
  -------------------------------------------------------
  Driver is OFF
  ... ...
  [Expert@VSX:1]#
  ```

* Output of the "`rtm drv stat`" command on the VSX Gateway shows that the Driver is "OFF".

  ```
  [Expert@VSX:1]# rtm drv stat
  SmartView Monitor: Driver 0 is Off
  ... ...
  [Expert@VSX:1]#
  ```

## Cause

Approximately every one minute, the RTMD process collects monitoring statistics. The CPU load increases because the RTMD kernel drivers are not initialized.
