## Symptoms

- * Cannot login to SmartConsole, Operation timed out

* CPM process on the Management Server is stuck in initializing stage in the output of "api status" command.

* The following error is found in the file $FWDIR/log/CPM.elg on the Management Server:

  `
  [DATE TIME] ERROR coresvc.internal.WorkSessionMgmtSvcImpl [taskExecutor-1]: Got Exception during InMemoryNotificationsSender : [java.lang.Object.wait(Native Method)]`
  `
[DATE TIME] ERROR utils.runtime.CpAssert$DefaultAssertionErrorHandler [main]: AssertionError has been caught: Uncaught exception `
`org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'sicDbFileHandler' defined in class path resource [com/checkpoint/management/db_sync/conf/db_sync-beans.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is com.checkpoint.infrastructure.utils.runtime.CpAssertionError: failed to create/open file /opt/CPsuite-R80.20/fw1/tmp/CKP_mutex::SIC_DB in thread Thread[main,5,main]`

* Reboot or restart of services does not resolve the issue.

## Cause

The directory */opt/CPsuite-R80.20/fw1/tmp/* is a symbolic link to */var/log/opt/CPsuite-R80.20/fw1/tmp* directory. Either one of the files is corrupted (the file CKP_mutex::SIC_DB in the error example above), or the directory is not present.
