## Symptoms

- * After upgrade, the client does not receive the correct Client Settings policy assignment. After upgrade, a new Client Settings Policy rule is not applied correctly to the assigned entity. The client receives the Default Client Settings Policy for the Entire Organization.
* When the assigned entity is moved to an existing rule before the upgrade, the entity receives the policy accordingly.
* When the assigned entity is moved back into the new rule that was created for that specific entity, it again, receives the Default Client Settings Rule for the Entire Organization.

## Cause

There is issue with 51 type policy (Client Settings policies) on the server. The new rules that are created after the upgrade were absent in PAT (cache). As a result, the server cannot find the required policy during the calculation.

This issue can be confirmed by opening an SSH session with the server:

*#uepm patdebug maps ruleBase*

The output lists all the policies in PAT.

Locate the required assigned policy, by name. If it is not listed in the output, the issue involves PAT.

If this is a Cloud Endpoint Server, [contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to confirm the issue.

## Solution

[Contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue.
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.

For faster resolution and verification, provide the Server ID of the Cloud Endpoint Server and the name/screenshots of the policy.

If the Endpoint Server is on-premises, provide the EPCPinfo ([sk158572](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk158572)), the output of *#uepm patdebug maps ruleBase* and any relevant screenshots of the policy from the SmartEndpoint that is missing from the PAT.
