# sk173948 - R81 ClusterXL in the Load Sharing Multicast mode may stop passing traffic during the installation of R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 34

## Symptoms

- * R81 ClusterXL in the Load Sharing Multicast mode may stop passing traffic in this scenario:

  1. Cluster members run R81 or [R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk170114) with a Take lower than 34.
  2. Install R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 34 or higher on one of the cluster members.
  3. Perform a manual failover from the cluster member with the R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 34 installed (run the "`clusterXL_Admin down`" command).
* After a failover, the output of the "`cphaprob state`" command shows that the state of the cluster member with the R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 34 or higher installed is "DOWN", but its "Assigned Load" remains 100%.

## Solution

**These options are available to prevent this possible issue:**

* To minimize the impact of a possible traffic outage:
  1. Schedule a maintenance window.
  2. Install the R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator on a cluster member with the lowest Member ID (see the output of the "`cphaprob state`" command).
  3. Install the R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator on all other cluster members.
* Use the Load Sharing Unicast mode during the upgrade:
  1. Change the Load Sharing mode from Multicast to Unicast.
  2. Install the R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator on all cluster members.
  3. Change the Load Sharing mode from Unicast to Multicast.

**To resolve this issue while it occurs:**

Install the R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator on all other cluster members.
