# sk173931 - Wrong affinity for FWD child processes

## Symptoms

- * High CPU utilization on a single core
* VPN tunnels going down frequently
* User space process FWD child processes affined to a single CPU

## Cause

For FWD child processes (vpnd, mta_monitor, pepd, pdpd, in.asessiond, usrchkd, in.msd, in.acapd, in.emaild.mta, scanengine_b, scanengine_s, and others) affinity is set to a single CPU instead of all available CPUs.

## Solution

[Contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue.   
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.   
For faster resolution and verification please collect [CPinfo](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk92739) files from the Security Management and Security Gateways involved in the case.
