# sk173828 - VPN to DAIP gateways randomly fails key exchange

## Symptoms

- * VPN to DAIP gateways randomly fails IKEv1 key exchange.
* `$FWDIR/log/vpnd.elg` shows;  
  WriteSA: ioctl VPN_WRITE_IKE_SA failed - kernel lost track of IKE SA  
  RespMMPacketError: error in FWIKE_EXCH_MAIN_MODE - FWIKE_MM_PACKET_6  
* kernel debug shows;  
  write_ikev1_sa: cookieI:76941438 214b575b cookieR:1efaa954 9d4a17e8 newsa:1 timeout=86400;  
  write_ikev1_sa: Already have 20 IKE SAs with \&LTiterated DAIP ip,\>

## Cause

The new IKE SA is not stored in the kernel due to maximum number of negotiations already stored.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
