## Symptoms

- After upgrade from R80.20 or higher, CMA shows as "Pending" and not "Starting".

## Cause

In the new upgrade process, standby CMAs are not upgraded until the active CMA is upgraded. Consequently, when the user upgrades a machine with a standby CMA, and the active CMA is not upgraded already, the standby CMA will not start.

<br />

## Solution

Upgrade the machine when the CMA is active. The standby CMA starts automatically.
