# sk173723 - The 'g_tcpdump' command fails when using brackets in the filter syntax

## Symptoms

- The 'g_tcpdump' command fails with these errors:

* ``[<SGM_ID>]sh: -c: line 0: syntax error near unexpected token `('``
* `[<SGM_ID>]tcpdump: illegal token: {`

## Cause

The underlying mechanism which the 'g_tcpdump' command uses to send commands to all Security Group Members / Security Gateway Modules interprets these characters literally rather than as part of the advanced tcpdump syntax.
