# sk173706 - Output of the "top" or "ps" command shows high CPU utilization by the PDPD or VPND process

## Symptoms

- * Output of the "`top`" or "`ps auxw`" command shows high CPU utilization by the PDPD or VPND process on the Security Gateway.

* This is a large scale environment with Identity Awareness or Endpoint Security Clients (there are many users that connect simultaneously).

* The debug with the "`perf`" tool on the Security Gateway shows that the PDPD or VPND process runs the "`fw_malloc`" constantly.

This problem was fixed. The fix is included starting in:
