# sk173664 - After upgrade from R77.30 to R80.20 and above, Security Gateway with SecureXL enabled drops some traffic

## Symptoms

- * After upgrade from R77.30 to R80.20 and above, some traffic like SMTP and DNS, does not pass through the Security Gateway while SecureXL is enabled.

* Traffic capture with FW Monitor with SecureXL enabled shows inbound traffic but no outbound traffic.

* Traffic capture with FW Monitor with SecureXL disabled shows inbound and outbound traffic.

* Kernel debug on the Security Gateway "`fw ctl zdebug + drop`" shows no drops for the affected traffic.

## Cause

Monitor mode ([sk101670](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk101670)) is enabled on the Security Gateway.

The `$FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf` file on the Security Gateway contains these entries:  
`psl_tap_enable=1 `  
`fw_tap_enable=1`
