# sk173410 - Link state on SGMs is "down" even though port Admin_state and Oper_state are "up" and the interface is "PLUGGED"

## Symptoms

- * Admin_state and Oper_state on Maestro Hyperscale Orchestrator (MHO) show "up" and the interface is "PLUGGED," but the link state in the OS on Security Gateway Modules (SGMs) shows "down."

* The user is unable to query the MHO's REST API from SGMs. For example:

  ```
  
  # smo_rest_util -c show-hostname -i ssm1
  Error occurred while running smo_rest_api_request_url().
  Check /var/log/messages for more details
  ```

## Cause

The web ssl-port on the MHO was changed. This caused API connectivity between the SGM and the MHO to fail, resulting in an inconsistent interface state.

It isn't supported to change the MHO WebUI SSL port (e.g. set web ssl-port 443) (Changing it will cause communication issues between Maestro devices)
