# sk173364 - Unable to modify or view interfaces by using clish commands when Management Data Plane Separation is enabled

## Symptoms

- When Management Data Plane Separation (MDPS) is enabled, after the user installs R80.40 Jumbo Hotfix Take 114, if he runs `clish` commands to modify / view an interface:   
`# set interface `   
`# add interface `   
`# show interfaces all `   
He sees the error message:   
`NMSETH0429 can't read "NSID": no such variable`

## Solution

**Background:** Management Data Plane Separation allows a Security Gateway to have isolated Management and Data networks. The network system of each domain (plane) is independent and includes interfaces, routes, sockets, and processes. The Management Plane is a domain, whose purpose is to access, provision, and monitor the Security Gateway.  

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

If you choose not to upgrade, use the WebUI to configure the interfaces settings.
