Introduction {#Introduction}
----------------------------

**Check Point Cloud Firewall Metered License solution** (formerly known as CloudGuard Metered License) provides comprehensive protections for private and public clouds with a multi-layered security architecture. The solution protects against even the most sophisticated attacks, to effectively prevent the lateral spread of threats within virtual environments and private cloud data centers.   
The Check Point Metered License solution introduces the Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) pricing models that charges for the actual usage.

Prerequisites {#Prerequisites}
------------------------------

1. The Public Cloud CA Bundle must be installed on every Security Gateway and Management server. Refer to [sk172188](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk172188).

2. Internet connectivity from the Management Server and each Security Gateway / Cluster Member / Scalable Platform Security Groups is necessary.

3. Connections to the Management Server to the TCP port 18208 must not be blocked.

4. For versions R81.10 and lower: Install the Recommended Version of the Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator:

Installation {#Installation}
----------------------------

1. Download the [cml_installation.sh script](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/download/114245) to your computer.

2. Copy the download script from your computer to your Management Server to some directory (for example, */var/log/*).

3. Connect to the command line on the Management Server.

4. Log in to the Expert mode.

5. Assign the "execute" permission to the script:  
   `chmod -v +x /var/log/cml_installation.sh`

6. Run the script and wait for it to finish:  
   `/var/log/cml_installation.sh`

Troubleshooting {#Troubleshooting}
----------------------------------

If prompted by the `cml_installtion.sh` script, install the required AutoUpdater package, as described in [sk165653](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk165653).
