## Symptoms

- * Remote Access clients fail to connect.
* VPND stops working repeatedly.
* Portals that use HTTPS/port 443 are not accessible.

## Cause

VPND stops working due to an invalid configuration.
The *$CPDIR/conf/multi_portal_cipher_priority.conf* is malformed.
There is no 'forbidden' section.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

* [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R80.40](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk165456) starting from Take 119
* [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R80.30](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk153152) starting from Take 237

If you choose not to upgrade, copy the default generated *$CPDIR/conf/multi_portal.cipher* and *$CPDIR/conf/multi_portal_cipher_priority.conf* from a good machine to replace both files.
Then, follow [sk126613](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk126613 "Cipher configuration tool for Security Gateways") to edit it.

Note that according to [sk126613](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk126613 " Cipher configuration tool for Security Gateways"), you should use cipher_util from versions R80.30 and above.
DO NOT edit as in previous versions.
