# sk172886 - Multiple ksoftirqd processes show high CPU use

## Symptoms

- * Multiple *ksoftirqd* processes show high CPU use.
* CPU cores that are assigned to SND show high use when the fw_workers are in idle state.
* Multi-Queue (MQ) is enabled and configured correctly.
* The troubleshooting steps in [sk167553](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk167553) (section "3.1.1.2: SNDs are highly utilized") do not include a match for the symptoms above.
* These logs appear under */var/log/messages/* :

  ```

## Cause

The `tcpdump` command might be running in the background and causing high CPU for the SND cores.
