# sk172885 - Security Gateway crashes during policy installation generating a VMcore

## Symptoms

- In a rare scenario during policy installation, the Security Gateway may crash and generate a VMcore.

## Cause

The Gateway crashes while trying to write invalid interface name to log buffer during the policy installation.
