# sk172766 - How to modify raw log file size for a log server

## Solution

Log server automatically starts a new log file when the existing log file gets to the defined maximum size.   

**To increase the size of raw log file, do these steps:**   

1. Navigate to SmartConsole \> **Management server objec** t \> **logs** \> **additional logging** \> select, **Create a new log file when the current file is larger than ______Mbyts** .  

*Note -* This value is by default set to 2000MBytes.  

2. Select a value.   
3. Install database.
