# sk172567 - "Failed (Signature error)" message in SmartEndpoint, when the user fails to upload EPS.msi packages

## Symptoms

- * "Failed (Signature error)" message in SmartEndpoint, when the user fails to upload EPS.msi packages.

## Cause

Signature verification process crashes while it tries to check the signature. It does not return any correct response code and stops working in the middle because it cannot reach the necessary `.dll`.   

**Note:** There is no direct dependency between Internet connection and the signature verification process.
