# sk172243 - AntiVirusMonitor Secure Client Verification (SCV) does not work for Symantec Anti-Virus

## Symptoms

- AntiVirusMonitor Secure Client Verification (SCV) does not work for Symantec Anti-Virus. (Symantic Anti-Virus is not detected, even when added to `$FWDIR/conf/local.scv` under AntiVirusMonitor.)

## Cause

**Environment:** Symantec Anti-Virus version 14 (14.0 RU1 MP2) Build 3929 (14.0.3929.1200) is used. This Build uses the virus definitions date as a Signature parameter.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

Check Point recommends to always upgrade to the most recent version ([Harmony Endpoint](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=downloads&product=494)).
If you do not wish to upgrade, then [contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue.   
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
