# sk171556 - On strongSwan Linux IPSec client, user does not get any information when he runs "ipsec up connection_name"

## Symptoms

- * On strongSwan Linux IPSec client, user does not get any information when he runs `ipsec up connection_name`
* VPN tunnel shows no status on the Client Linux Machine after the configuration is completed.
* VPN tunnel from the Client shows the error: "etc/strongswan.d/ipsec.conf:2: Syntax error, unexpected Name"

## Cause

The files (`ipsec.conf` and `strongswan.conf`) are not configured in the correct directory, and/or the indentation of the files is not correct.
