# sk171548 - Cannot download packet capture from SmartConsole in Scalable Platform Appliances and R80.30SP Maestro

## Symptoms

- * When the user tries to fetch a traffic capture file from the Threat Prevention IPS log, this error appears:  
  "`Unexpected error while retrieving the packet capture.`"

* TCPDUMP over port 256 shows that the Security Management Server communicates with SMO IP.

## Cause

The log and traffic capture were generated by an SGM (non-SMO blade).  

The Security Management Server is not "aware" of SGMs and cannot fetch the files via communication over port 256.
