# sk171355 - "User account expired" error when radius user tries to connect to VPN site

## Symptoms

- * Users fails to connect to VPN site when using radius authentication.

* The following error is found in $FWDIR/log/vpnd.elg:`"User account expired on #DATE#"`.

* Logs in $FWDIR/log/vpnd.elg show that the user is found in a generic group.

## Cause

The expiration date set in the generic group has passed.
