# sk171142 - Cannot uncheck the box for "Global use" on a Gateway object in a VPN global community

## Symptoms

- Cannot uncheck the box for "Global use" on a Gateway object in a VPN global community. The following error appears: "The global use state cannot be changed at this time. \<GW_NAME\> is used in 1 or more global VPN communities. Please remove it first"

## Cause

**Environment:** The Gateway is not in the Global VPN community group anymore.  

A partially deleted Gateway (from the "VPN community" object) is one that appears in the `fwset` of a VPN community object under `permanent_tunnel_participant_list` field, but not under `participantGateways` or `satelliteGateways` fields.
