# sk171138 - <code> "sed: invalid option -- E" </code>- Log exporter configuration fails with this error message

## Symptoms

- Adding log exported configuration fails with this error message: `

`
[Expert@Hostname:0]# cp_log_export add name test target-server target_ip target-port port_number protocol tcp/udp format syslog/splunk etc..
`  
`sed: invalid option -- E
`  
`Usage: sed [OPTION]... {script-only-if-no-other-script} [input-file]...
`

## Cause

The specific version of Log exporter relies on the *'sed'* command with *-E* flag to update the configuration files.

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
