# sk170928 - RTMD process consumes over 2G RAM and restarts regularly

## Symptoms

- * RTMD process consumes over 2G RAM and restarts regularly.

* In environments with complex topology, RTMD takes a long time to start up.

* RTMD causes 100% CPU load for some time after a reboot.

## Cause

An issue with the way RTMD calculates topology in complex environments, causing high CPU load and excessive memory consumption.

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
