# sk170881 - Permanent VPN Tunnel between Locally Managed SMB DAIP Gateway and Check Point Security Gateway reported as 'Down' although it is really 'Up'

## Symptoms

- Locally Managed SMB device with a Dynamic IP shows that the VPN Tunnel status is "Down" even though VPN traffic works correctly.

## Cause

The satellite Gateway is a Locally Managed (Externally Managed) DAIP Gateway. As a result, the central Gateway cannot initiate Tunnel Test to DAIP Gateways.
