# sk170798 - Unexpected network disruption for 5-10 seconds in ClusterXL

## Symptoms

- Traffic outage in ClusterXL for 5-10 seconds, however long it takes the switch to move traffic back away from the Cluster standby member.

## Cause

Missing CCP packets triggers probing by the Cluster standby member. The connected switch sees the who-has VIP, tell VIP and updates its arp/mac/cam tables.

Traffic is dropped as the standby member should not receive the traffic until the primary continues to use the VIP and the switch updates itself correctly back to the primary.
