# sk170672 - "Error: Operation timed out" error when trying to connect with SmartConsole

## Symptoms

- * "`Error: Operation timed out`" message when trying to connect with SmartConsole.  

* The CPU and memory usage of CPM process may be abnormally high.  

* During debug, the `$MDS_FWDIR/log/cpm.elg` file shows:  

  `ERROR coresvc.internal.WorkSessionMgmtSvcImpl [taskScheduler-5]: Failed DomainSession 10a1a7fc803e71381bcf8059082653e1 discard. current ws 6830303c-ccbb-48b8-938e-da063cc45f28`  
  `java.lang.SecurityException: Tried to open non existing session with id 6eb0c027-d343-4974-b55d-1543806d119c`  
  `Failed to communicate with FWM: Exception during FWM call: Could not send Message.`  
  `FATAL: Failed to send <DIFFERENT_NUMBER> notifications to FWM. Notifications lost. FWM of domain 6e6071fc-062d-2d44-bc71-bdd0adc6b1df out of sync!!!`  
  `FATAL: Failed to send 1 notifications to FWM. Notifications lost. FWM of domain 2ba1a777-63da-9644-8829-303a22f05746 out of sync!!!`

## Cause

Many notifications while login attempt which blocks the FWM process to authenticate.
