## Symptoms

- * After an upgrade of a SmartEvent Server to R80.40, when trying to run any SmartEvent report it fails almost immediately.

  Example:

  ![](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/sc//SolutionsStatics/sk170632/Reports failing completely202011231733402.jpg)
* Any attempt to create a new report and then to run it also fails almost immediately.

* SmartView shows "*Failed to login user:X*" while trying to export logs to Excel when logged in to SmartView with any user other than "admin".

* Every export to PDF fails.

* Install Policy through Global Policy re-assignment just hangs at "0% initializing".

* The *$FWDIR/log/cpm.elg* file on the SmartEvent Server contains lines similar to these:

  `
[DATE TIME] ERROR coresvc.internal.LoginSvcImpl [qtp-1098916104-22936]: `**failed to login after domainSession was created, log out domain session**` XXXX and client session`
  `
at org.springframework.transaction.IllegalTransactionStateException: Existing transaction found for transaction marked with propagation '`**never** `'`
  `
  at org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.handleExistingTransaction(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.java:399)`

  or

  `
