# sk170476 - After Security gateway in-place upgrade policy installation fails with "Error: 0-2000257-31"

## Symptoms

- * Security policy installation fails with "Error: 0-2000257-31" after Security Gateway in-place upgrade.  

* When executed on the Security Gateway the `"fw stat"` command display: "`Local host is not a FireWall-1 module`"  

* In some cases `"cpstop; cpstart"` shows `"Unable to open '/dev/fw0': No such file or directory" `

## Cause

Registry corruption during the upgrade.
