## Symptoms

- * Endpoint Security Client machine experiences slowness during Windows OS updates.
* Windows Task Manager shows that during the Windows updates process, the Forensics service (EFRService.exe) consumes high amount of CPU resources.

## Cause

During the Windows updates process, a lot of operations are being made by the Windows OS. There operations are monitored by the Forensics service causing it to use high amount of CPU resources.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

* [**Endpoint Security Client E83.00**](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk166576)

Check Point recommends to always [upgrade to the most recent version](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk117536).

**Important clarification:** This specific issue is resolved **after reboot** in E83.00.
A similar issue may be encountered **after an EP upgrade without reboot** . Our drivers calculate the certificate list on machine startup. In such a case, there was an upgrade of EP (without reboot) and a Win update. During the Win update, a process like TiWorker which is excluded by signer was not excluded. **This issue is resolved in E84.30.**
