# sk169975 - Standby ClusterXL member fails to open private outbound connections after an upgrade to R80.40 or higher version

## Symptoms

- After upgrade to R80.40 or higher version, local (private) connections from Standby ClusterXL member are broken. This includes Software Blades updates and other connections to Cloud and Internet.

## Cause

Manual "no-NAT" rules are configured for the Cluster members local connections, as described in the section "Additional optional solution" of [sk31832](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk31832).   
Such rules are not supported and since R80.40 may break Standby member's connectivity.
