# sk169765 - "Failed to calculate sync targets for conn" error in /var/log/messages

## Symptoms

- * Following messages appear in /var/log/messages  

  `ERROR: Failed to calculate sync targets for conn <dir 0, IP:Port -> IP:Port IPP y>`  
  `
  ERROR: Failed to calculate sync targets for conn <dir 1, IP:Port -> IP:Port IPP y>`  


  For example:  

  `ERROR: Failed to calculate sync targets for conn <dir 0, 2.2.2.2:64735 -> 8.8.8.9:18435 IPP 6>`  
  `
  ERROR: Failed to calculate sync targets for conn <dir 1, 8.8.8.9:18435 -> 2.2.2.2:64735 IPP 6>`

* Traffic is impacted once security group member is back online after a reboot.

## Cause

During the boot-up process, the rebooted member state is set to "Active" prematurely.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
