# sk169732 - "NMSSG0050 Failed to get local Orchestrator ID" when changing the QSFP port type on Maestro Orchestrator

## Symptoms

- "`NMSSG0050 Failed to get local Orchestrator ID`" error in Gaia Clish on a Maestro Orchestrator when changing the QSFP port type from Uplink to Downlink with the command "`set maestro port <Port ID> type downlink`".

## Cause

Configuration:

* MHO-140 is unboxed and configured with Management IP address
* All Security Appliances are connected to MHO-140 using QSFP ports (40G/100G)

To perform port operations, MHO should obtain its Orchestrator ID first.

When connecting the first Security Appliance to a QSFP port on MHO-140, the port type on MHO should be changed from "uplink" to "downlink".

By design, MHO obtains its ID accordingly to the port number on the Security Appliance that was connected to MHO.

For example: When connecting the port *ethsBP1-01* on the Security Appliance, the Orchestrator will get the Orchestrator ID 1. When connecting the port *ethsBP1-02* on the Security Appliance, the Orchestrator will get the Orchestrator ID 2.

QSFP ports are defined as uplinks by default. Therefore, connecting appliances to these ports will not lead the Orchestrator to define its Orchestrator ID.
