## Symptoms

- * In SmartConsole \> "Gateways \& Servers", when selecting a Security Gateway and in the bottom panel clicking "Device \& Licensing Information" \> "License Status", it shows the message "`No license`" (or "`Error: No valid contract(s)`") for the "Monitoring" Blade, although this Software Blade is disabled.

  Example:

  ![](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/sc/SolutionsStatics/NEW_SK_NOID1597404011250/example1202008141549351.jpg)
* Output of the "`cplic print`" command on the Management Server shows the correct license.

* Output of the "`cpstat os -f licensing`" command on the Security Gateway / VSX Gateway (in the context VS0) shows "`Entitled`" and "`Contract is up to date`".

* Output of the "`cpstat os -f licensing`" command on the VSX Gateway in the context of the affected Virtual System shows "`Not Entitled`" and these fields are empty:

  `Account ID:`
  `
  Package description:`
  `
  Container CK:`
  `
  CK Signature:`
  `
  Container SKU:`
  `

## Cause

The issue may be related to a proxy server, through which the Security Gateway / Virtual System connects to the Internet.

To verify this:

1. In SmartConsole, configure the proxy server for licensing:
Note - This applies to all Security Gateway / ClusterXL / Virtual System objects.
   1. Click "Menu" \> "Global Properties".
   2. In the left panel, click "Proxy".
   3. Configure the relevant server.
   4. Click OK.
2. In SmartConsole, click "Menu" \> "Install database" \> select all objects \> click "Install".
3. Verify if the proxy server was configured:
   1. Connect to the command line of the Management Server.
   2. Log in to the Expert mode.
   3. Run:
      `cat $CPDIR/tmp/umis_objects.C`
The output should show "`use_proxy(true)`" and the configured proxy server details (IP address + port).
4. Install the Access Control policy on the VSX Security Gateway / VSX Cluster and the relevant Virtual System.
5. Make sure that both VS0 and the relevant Virtual System can reach Check Point User Center. See [sk83520](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk83520).
6. On the Management Server, start the CPD daemon debug. See [sk86320](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk86320).
7. Replicate the issue.
8. On the Management Server, stop the CPD daemon debug.

Next steps:

* If the CPD logs show the following error:

  `[ERROR] http_client_handle_finished_download: Operation failed. curl returned: Errorcode=7. Error String:Couldn't connect to server`

then the issue is related to a proxy server. Take the relevant steps to fix the proxy server issue.
* If the CPD logs show does **not** show the above error, then follow the steps in the "Solution" section below.
