# sk168492 - $FWDIR/conf is filling up with rules-* files

## Symptoms

- *$FWDIR/conf* is filling up with thousands of *rules-\** files.   
**Example** : */opt/CPmds-R80/customers/CMA1/CPsuite-R80/fw1/conf/rules-2cC9mxeA6RUfEvjYJd7rEEr8mG0QzBuGdcKXUsCk2WM*

## Cause

There is an issue with the policy verification code.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.  
For faster resolution and verification, please collect [CPinfo files](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk92739) from the Security Management Server and Security Gateways involved in the case.
The following **workaround** is also available: On all Standby CMAs, delete the unnecessary files before disk is out of space:  

1. *mdssenv to CMA*
2. *rm $FWDIR/conf/rules-\**
For R80.10 version the same should be done on Active CMAs.
