# sk168058 - "Route all traffic" (Hub mode) is "ON", but some DNS queries are sent through physical interface

## Symptoms

- * "Route all traffic" (Hub mode) is "ON", but some DNS queries are sent through the physical interface.
* In Wireshark, user can see DNS queries on the physical interface.

## Cause

Starting from Windows 8, Microsoft has changed DNS resolving behavior. Windows DNS resolver sends DNS requests (in parallel) to all available network interfaces, and uses the fastest reply. That creates an issue for all VPN client solutions to route DNS traffic through the tunnel.
