# sk167506 - High number of Visitor Mode users in CPView or in output of "vpn show_tcpt" command

## Symptoms

- * High number of Visitor Mode users appear in CPView or in the output of the '*vpn show_tcpt*' command.
* The *vpnd* process is highly utilized.

## Cause

Visitor Mode (IPSec over TCP port 443) causes a high performance impact on the Gateway as such connections are handled in user-mode.  

**Notes** :  

* Check Point Mobile for Windows and Endpoint Security VPN client first tries to connect using NAT-T. If the Gateway is not reachable, it switches to Visitor Mode.
* Visitor Mode is used when the Endpoint Security VPN client runs the **New Site** wizard.
