## Symptoms

- When the user tries to enter maintenance mode on VMware ESX deployment, there is not enough time to press any key, and the following error appears repeatably:

Checking filesystem FAILED`  
`
*** An error occurred during the file system check.`  
`
***Please boot in the maintenance mode to repair the filesystem`
