# sk167412 - Using 'fw ctl zdebug' or FW Monitor on VSX Fails Because of Memory or Buffer Issues

## Symptoms

- * `fw ctl zdebug` debug on VSX device fails with `"kiss_kdebug_command: memory allocation failed, aborting."` message.  

* When using `fw monitor` on a VSX it fails with `"monitor: failed to allocate buffer"` message.

## Cause

There's a limited amount of memory or buffer that can be allocated on a VSX since it's shared with all the Virtual Systems.
