## Symptoms

- * IPS Update Status shows the wrong information:

Under 'Threat Prevention -\> Updates'. IPS will load and say that the Security Gateway is not up to date. "a new update package is available"

However under 'License and Monitoring -\> IPS', the up to date IPS version is displayed. This is also confirmed by running *ips stat* on the Security Gateway.

* Alternatively, the message can be "1 out of 2 gateways are not up to date" In SmartConsole In "more details" we see: "IPS: Error: Update failed. Failed to load database."

## Cause

SmartView sends a certain request format to *FWM,* which is saved at a cache under *$FWDIR/log/amonStatusFiles/0* .

There was a new addition to SmartView in R80.20.

During a version upgrade the SmartView *amon* requests are not being updated, as well. Due to that inconsistency, *FWM* does not perform the request with the new format, and a wrong IPS package status is shown in SmartConsole.
