## Symptoms

- * After DNS is updated for Remote Access VPN gateway (FQDN), the Remote Access VPN client cannot connect to the site.
* Client-side logs shows that the VPN gateway DNS (FQDN name) is resolved to the previous IP Address.

## Cause

If the client is not configured to resolve the DNS name during the connection to the site, it will resolve the name once and will save the IP address.

When the client is configured to resolve the DNS before creating the site, it will resolve it for every connection.

By default, Remote Access VPN clients resolve the DNS name (FQDN) of the VPN Site only once - when the VPN site is created.
