## Symptoms

- * Gaia OS does not boot from installation USB flash drive created by ISOmorphic Tool.

* Dell R640 PowerEdge device does not recognize an installation USB flash drive created by ISOmorphic Tool and Gaia OS installation does not boot up.

## Cause

* For Symptom 1: Installation USB flash drive on Gaia OS is recognized as UEFI/GPT instead of BIOS/MBR type which is not supported by Gaia OS.

* For Symptom 2: By default, Dell R640 devices boot up using UEFI method. Gaia OS supports only the BIOS boot-up method that is compatible with MBR partitioning tables

## Solution

**For Scenario 1** , perform the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Use RUFUS (a freeware utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives) to format the installation USB flash drive and burn Gaia OS on it with BIOS/MBR file type.

2. After RUFUS finishes successfully, use the [ISOmorphic Tool](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk65205) and create Gaia installation USB flash drive.

**For Scenario 2**, perform the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Enter the Dell R640 BIOS setup
2. Go to the boot configuration and change the boot sequence from UEFI to BIOS.
3. Reboot the device and boot from the Gaia installation USB
