## Symptoms

- The alarm LED is activated on a 3600, 3600T, or 3800 appliance when only one PSU is installed.

## Cause

The 3600, 3600T, 3800 appliances support two PSUs.

When only one PSU is connected, the default behavior is to activate the alarm LED on the appliance.

## Solution

Follow these steps:

1. Only on the 3600 and 3600T appliances - install the applicable version and reboot:

   * [Check Point R82.20](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk185039)
   * [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R80.40](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R80.40/Default.htm), Take 25 or higher
   * [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R80.30](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R80.30/Default.htm), Take 166 or higher
2. Disable the alarm LED activation if only one PSU is installed:

   1. Connect to the command line on the appliance.

   2. Log in.

   3. If the default shell is Gaia Clish, then go to the Expert mode:

      `expert`
   4. Run these commands:

      `dbset min_psu_set_by_user 1`

      `dbset :save`

After a short time, the alarm LED must turn off if only one PSU is installed.

To enable the alarm LED activation again if only one PSU is installed, run these commands in the Expert mode:
> `dbset min_psu_set_by_user 2`
>
> `dbset :save`

If the appliances 3600, 3800 and 3900 continue to send the SNMP Trap "`powerSupplyFailure`", [contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue (hotfix ID "PRHF-38275").

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.
For faster resolution and verification, collect the [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the appliances in the case.
