# sk165556 - "SmartView Server certificate is invalid" message when opening a new tab

## Symptoms

- * SmartView shows "SmartView Server certificate is invalid" message when opening a new tab.

* SmartConsole debug shows:  
  `[30] [DATE TIME,PID] (ERROR) SmartViewWrapperw - Fingerprint repsonse from server is null or empty.`  
  `
  [30] [DATE TIME,PID] (ERROR) SmartViewWrapperw - Error occurred while trying to validate a fingerprint with the Management server fingerprint`  
  `
  System.Exception: Fingerprint repsonse from server is null or empty.`  

* The output of the following command is blank:  
  `[Expert@Hostname:0]# api fingerprint -f json`

## Cause

During the connection via SmartConsole (only through SmartConsole) we query the SHA1 Fingerprint of the API.  
Due to a problem with the Management API we cannot query the fingerprint of the server which results in an "invalid certificate" error.
