# sk165552 - IKE traffic is being dropped for "Connection contains real IP of NATed address"

## Symptoms

- * IKE traffic is being dropped for "Connection contains real IP of NATed address"
* Kernel debug which includes the following flag outputs the following  
  > *fw ctl debug - m fw + conn drop nat link*   
  > :500 dropped by fw_conn_post_inspect Reason: fwconn_init_links (OUTBOUND) failed;

## Cause

A symbolic link in the connections table was created for the Static NAT that has been configured. When external VPN connections are attempted, they are dropped because a symbolic link already exists.

Another possibility is a is a misconfigured NAT rule - Translating WAN IP to LAN IP - this is not possible.
