## Symptoms

- When looking at some of the 64-bit Endpoint Security Client processes in Task Manager, they show as running in 32-bit mode.

## Solution

No fix is required; the system is functioning as designed.

32-bit versions are forward compatible, meaning they can run on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
In contrast, 64-bit versions are not backward compatible and will only work on 64-bit systems.

When the processes where migrated from 32-Bit Windows, there was no reason for migrating our processes into 64-bit, as the user-mode processes can be either 32-bit or 64-bit.

As a result, the processes were left in 32-bit mode, and this is why they show as running in 32-bit mode in Task Manager.

On 64-bit systems, all drivers must also be 64-bit; otherwise, the system won't load them.
This means that all back-end drivers used by the processes are running in 64-bit mode when used on a 64-bit client.
