## Symptoms

- * LDAP users are unable to connect to Remote Access or Mobile Access.
* SmartView Tracker failed login shows one of the following;
  * Unix Password not supported
  * Unknown scheme
  * Firewall-1 Password not supported
  * Access denied - wrong user name or password
* In *vpnd.elg* or *cvpnd.elg* , you will see;
  * \[AU\] CAuthRealmScheme::SetAuthScheme: (*UserName*,vpn) Setting authentication method to Unix Password
  * \[AU\] pam_authenticate() status: User not known to the underlying authentication module

## Cause

Legacy authentication or LDAP authentication is set to "OS password".
