# sk164255 - Policy installation on a Security Gateway fails because of an expired SIC Certificate

## Symptoms

- * Policy installation on a Security Gateway fails with an error about its SSL certificate (SIC certificate).

* The *$CPDIR/log/cpd.elg* file on the Security Gateway contains continuous failed attempts to renew SIC:

  `[CPD <PID>]@<Hostname>[<DATE TIME>] Renew_SIC_Cert_cb: CPD failed to renew sic certificate. status = 3, rc - -1.`

## Cause

The Security Gateway cannot communicate with its Management Server over the required TCP ports to renew its SIC Certificate:

* ICA_PULL (port 18210)
* ICA_PUSH (port 18211)
* ICA_SERVICES (port 18191)
